Srika was born into a very poor family. Her parents lost their employment when she was 5, and the whole family moved into the rock quarry to survive. Over a few years, her parents both became sick with diseased lungs from the dust in the rock quarry. By the time she turned 9, they both died. Srika stayed in mine, and wouldn't have been allowed to leave.
Soon after her parents passed away, a village leader came to mine and removed 22 children, including Srika, who were working there and many of them came to live in The Sylom Children's Home. Today, Srika enjoys painting and wants to become a police officer.
