Sakui was kidnapped and sold to a rock quarry after her family farm flooded three harvests in a row. Unable to make their own food, Sakui's parents borrowed money for food. When they couldn't repay the debt, the loan shark showed up with enforcers and took Sakui away.
In the quarry, she was forced to work long hours and endured abuse of every kind. Eventually, one of our field teams rescued her, and she began to attend school for the first time in 2015 at the age of 12. Today, Sakui's is eligible for vocational training in our tailoring program. This provides her security as she ages out of our care.
When you sponsor Sakui, 100% of your gift goes to provide her with vocational training.
