Pondi's father transported goods locally on his rickshaw, but when he was hospitalized after being hit by a truck, he couldn't work anymore. Pondi went to work in the quarry after a human trafficker tricked his parents. Life in the quarry was unbearably difficult. He worked from dawn until dusk on a single meal of rice. The drudgery seemed endless.
After 4 years in the quarry, Pondi was found by a search and rescue team. He was brought to live at The CFC Children's Home. Today, he is 12 years old, and he loves to read books. Someday, he hopes to become an engineer.
