Lana's father co-owned a small shop, but the shop never provided enough for both growing families to feed their children even twice a day. At the suggestion of his partner, Lana's father sent her to work in a rock quarry. Lana's experience in the quarry was torture every single day for over 2 years.
She was regularly raped by the quarry owners, and regularly thought of killing herself by jumping from the top of the quarry. However, before she did that, one of our search and rescue teams raided the quarry with the support of the police and removed all the children working there.
Today, Lana lives at The Sylom Children's Home. She is going to school for the first time, and someday, she hopes to become a seamstress so she can own her future. She also wants to provide for children being rescued from slavery.
When you sponsor Lana, you take care of her needs for food and education. You'll get updates from time to time about how you've made a difference and learn about the significant things happening in her life.
When you do what you can For One, you help end child slavery for good.
Dozens of other children are waiting to be connected with a sponsor. See their stories.
