When Jaya's parents defaulted on their debt, they chose to enter a rock quarry as slaves instead of being killed. Jaya went with them and worked in the quarry where they were all treated mercilessly. Her parents died in the rock quarry before she was rescued and brought to live at The Sylom Children's Home.
Today, Jaya is 11 years old and in the 4th grade. She loves reading the newspaper, and she plans on studying to become a doctor when she finishes school. She also loves her English classes.
When you sponsor Jaya, you take care of her needs for food and education. You'll get updates from time to time about how you've made a difference and learn about the significant things happening in her life.
When you do what you can For One, you help end child slavery for good.
Dozens of other children are waiting to be connected with a sponsor. See their stories.
