Anitha's father killed himself when he ran up a debt that he could not pay back. At this point to save the family from starving, Anitha was sold by her mother to a human trafficker. Anitha was forced to work long hours in the hot sun with almost no food. The supervisors used every kind of cruelty to keep the workers in fear. Our field team learned of children working in this quarry, and they rescued many children under the cover of darkness.
Today, Anitha is 10 years old, and she has started attending school for the first time. When she grows up, she wants to help advocate for the poorest people and fight against the debt slavery that ruins countless lives.
When you sponsor Anitha, you take care of her needs for food and education. You'll get updates from time to time about how you've made a difference and learn about the significant things happening in her life.
When you do what you can For One, you help end child slavery for good.
Dozens of other children are waiting to be connected with a sponsor. See their stories.
