Jyothi was born to a large family in a rural village. When finances got tight, her father pulled her out of school and sent her to work in a rock quarry like many of the children from her village did. At 9 years old, she was forced to work 12 hours a day with no rest and barely enough food to survive. All the girls in the quarry were subjected to sexual violence, and they feared the supervisors. For over a year, Jyothi struggled to survive the work and the torture. She was rescued with several dozen children in the Spring of 2020.

Today, Jyothi has restarted school, and she loves to sing. She has taken a great interest in learning songs about Jesus, and someday she hopes to be a teacher in the village where she grew up.

When you sponsor Jyothi, you take care of her needs for food and education. You'll get updates from time to time about how you've made a difference and learn about the significant things happening in her life.

When you do what you can For One, you help end child slavery for good.

Dozens of other children are waiting to be connected with a sponsor. See their stories.
